DISCLAIMER: ANVL UKON mounts are an emergency backup iron sight system. These were designed as a military requirement to fulfill the backup iron sight requirement while keeping rail space open for the operator. The intended use is within fifty yards or much less, in a CQB capacity; if the end users Red Dot sight is damaged, battery has died, or never powered on. This optic Mount system relies on true mechanical zero between the optic Mount, Rail and Barrel to have accurate windage.

DISCLAIMER: Torque Spec is 35-37 in lb for the 10-24 Clamp Screws. Accessories should always be installed by a professional.

ANVL UKON mounts are built and constructed to be a perfect mechanical zero from mount to rail. Make sure that your optic is seated correctly, and tighten down on the truest mechanical zero you can get. When mounting the optic Mount, make sure the amount is completely seated and the picatinny rail is tight against the non screw head side of the rail before tightening.

The optic side recoil lug on the UKON measures to 0.240″. Designed it to be a press fit depending on the tolerance from Aimpoint. It could be more loose or more tight. Aimpoints are 0.2390-.240. If yours is 0.239″ and ours is 0.240″ that’s a 0.001 difference which is a true pressfit as the dimensional difference forward and aft should be 0.0005 & 0.0005. This is OK! Simply cross-bolt tighten the four M3x.05 screws that came with your Aimpoint. Cross-bolt tightening is a “X” pattern in your tightening. It is suggested to do one rotation per screw, until fully tightened to the Aimpoint torque specifications.

Reasons for windage to be off: Loose tolerances picatinny rail, out of spec tolerances picatinny rail, non-concentric Barrel, mounting the optic mount to a polymer picatinny rail riveted to a sheet metal dust cover, poor tolerancing between barrel and picatinny rail.

  1. Joel (verified owner)

It is a nice lightweight mount but you cannot adjust windage of the iron sights Mine shoots six inches left at 25yds. I have it mounted to a BCM upper

    • Alex Costa

the BCM rail could be a hair out of spec. Make sure the feet are COMPLETELY flux before torqueing.

  2. Solid mount (verified owner)

The mount is great quality and having backup irons built in is nice. My only complaint is it fits so tightly in the mount you can’t use the aimpoint lenses covers at all. I did manage to stick the tango down rubber cover on it and mount it, but that was my only disappointment with the mount.

    • Alex Costa

if we made it long enough to fit the covers, it would be over an inch longer and the rear iron would be totally blurred not in the same focal plane anymore :(. There is a reason for it being that tight on the optic.
