The Edgar Sherman Design Sling, ESD Sling, was designed with purpose, research extreme testing, and experience. The ESD Sling is adaptable to the end user. The ESD Sling is highly customizable to any rifle, sub gun, shotgun, hunting rifle, bolt action and PDW weapon system. There are two adjustment sections on the ESD sling. A rear adjustment section to fit the ESD sling to your body size and additional gear. And a quick adjust section to loosen or tighten the sling while in use. The ESD Sling adjustment system is more adaptable to natural body movement and body mechanics. The 1-inch width of the ESD sling has less friction than wider slings and allows the ESD sling to move across your body without resistance.
The ESD sling has an elastic regulator preventing webbing from twisting or jamming when adjusting. This system also allows the sling to be folded up on itself and stored tightly to the weapon system. This feature is great for patrol vehicle storage or bag/pack/case storage. Simply pull on the ESD Sling to deploy the sling to its full length.

- Open Ends: This means that you will have an ITW tri-glide on each end of the sling to secure your attachment method. You could add any connection method for your rifle that you’d like and if needed trim the sling to your size (this is standard on most rifle slings).

Very well designed and constructed. It is light, thin and very strong. What sets it apart from traditional fast adjust slings is there are no lose ends of strap dangling no matter how long or short. It is truly a snag proof design. Simple but effective. ESD has created a very innovative product that stands out from the competition.

Absolutely the best unpadded 2 point sling on the market…period…full stop. This is truly evolved design. It consists of a closed loop quick adjust section in front, which is smooth like a Vickers CAS, has a better pull tab, similar to a Ferros Slingster, but without the short pull in the opposite direction to release a cam buckle.
The rear section also features closed loop adjustment with plenty of room in either direction. This is somewhat unique in that most 2 point slings have an open loop construction in the rear, which leaves a tail to be secured.
The webbing is 1 inch wide and soft, yet tightly woven nylon, as opposed to something like a Vickers CAS which uses 1.25″ webbing that is more coarsely woven. Very lightweight, but extremely sturdy material. There’s an elastic piece which serves as a guide for the quick adjust section, to prevent the webbing that feeds into the quick adjust ladderloc from becoming twisted. It also serves as an ingenious way to stow the sling, folded and securely tucked against the side of the rifle. All components are polymer ITW Nexus 1″ triglide buckles and a 1″ ITW Nexus Ladderloc, which won’t scratch your rifle and adjust smoothly.
Each end is folded over and sewn to prevent unraveling. The best bet is to buy them with open ends, which includes an extra tri-glide buckle on each end so that you can add or change the attachment method at will. I never thought I would appreciate the design of a sling as much as the ESD sling. It’s all in the little things and this sling checks the boxes, all the way down.
I spent a month waiting to see if wolf grey would come back in stock, but decided to buy a basic black one for now and I’ll buy both a grey one when they are available again.
ESD is a one man show at the moment, but I know he’s working to ramp up production of these slings as well as some other new items. Well worth the wait, but buy a couple to stick back for future builds, if you can…you never know how long they will stay in stock as more people discover it. I plan on a grey one for a current build and a ranger green to put back for an as yet unknown build.
I don’t have a reason to use any other sling. The only way I think these could be improved would be to offer a removable shoulder pad that can attach, similar to a Ferro Slingster, but with a size and thickness closer to that of a Haley D3 shoulder pad. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this option offered some day.
ANR is one of the few places that stocks these slings. Mine was $5 cheaper than on the ESD site and shipped super fast, even with the pandemic slowing things down.
