Our VP40 holsters are molded on a dedicated shell — the .40’s slide differs from the VP9’s enough to earn its own mold, so that’s what it gets: the actual VP40 geometry, with retention clicking on the trigger guard and the paddle mag release riding untouched where HK put it. Slide-mounted red dots and suppressor-height sights clear as standard.

Carry Options for the H&K VP40
Inside the Waistband (IWB): The VP40 carries exactly like its 9mm sibling — our IWB rig pairs it with an in-house concealment claw and your choice of injection-molded clips, heat-treated DCC Monoblock steel, or the NeoMag Alias system, with ride height and cant adjustment. Made to order, with the exact lead time shown live in the builder.
Light-Bearing: The VP40’s rail takes the full standard catalog — around twenty molded light fitments, including the Streamlight TLR-1 / HL / HL-X, TLR-2, and TLR-7 series, Surefire X300U-A & B and XC-series, Inforce, Olight, and Sig Foxtrot lights. Every shell is molded to the exact gun-and-light combination.
OWB — Standard & Nidhogg: The same dedicated fitment and light catalog outside the waistband — belt carry on the Standard OWB, range and duty-style configurations on the Nidhogg.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will a VP9 holster fit my VP40?
Not properly — the .40 slide’s dimensions differ from the 9mm’s, and a VP9-molded shell won’t retain the VP40 correctly. Ours is molded on the actual VP40.
Do you still make VP40 holsters?
Yes — actively, with the full light catalog and every carry platform. The industry abandoned .40; we didn’t abandon the people still carrying it.
Does the paddle mag release cause holster problems?
No — HK’s paddle sits at the trigger guard’s rear where the shell is molded around it, untouched on the draw and reholster.
Will the holster clear a red dot on my VP40?
Yes — slide-mounted optics and suppressor-height sights clear as standard on every shell, at no extra cost.
