Same Gun, Different Magazine — Why the Builder Asks
The holster half is simple: the Glock 43 and 43X (MOS models included) ride the same dedicated shells they always have — the 15-round magazine lives below the grip where a holster never touches. The fork is the mag carrier: Glock’s factory 15-rounder wears its own body dimensions, and a pocket molded for the 10-round factory mags won’t retain it correctly (or vice versa). So wherever your build includes magazine retention — the Daishō sidecar’s integrated carrier, or a paired mag carrier with any holster — the builder asks which magazine you feed, and the carrier is molded for exactly that answer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a different holster for the 15-round mags?
No — the holster fits the gun, and the gun didn’t change. The 43/43X shells cover your pistol regardless of magazine. It’s only the mag carrier that differs.
Will my existing ANR mag carrier fit the new factory 15-rounder?
If it was molded for the 10-round factory mags, no — the 15 is dimensionally its own magazine. Order a carrier configured for the 15-rounder and it retains correctly.
What about aftermarket 15-round mags (Shield Arms class)?
Different magazines again — the steel aftermarket 15s and Glock’s factory 15 don’t share dimensions. Select exactly what you run in the builder, and if you’re unsure, contact us before ordering.
Does this affect the Daishō sidecar?
It’s the main reason the builder asks — the Daishō’s integrated carrier is molded to your specific magazine. Select the factory 15 and the sidecar comes out right.
