    All kydex holsters are not created the same…. This is the second holster I ordered for my Smith & Wesson m&P 9 metal carry comp. It was difficult to find a holster due to my TLR7HL-X weapon light. The first holster I purchased was from another company and it just didn’t fit right. There was no “click”, and it didn’t feel secure. My ANR design holster remedied all of that. The fit is fantastic and the green topo is sick. Quality is second to none….

    If you are on the fence about what holster company to go with, do yourself a favor and just go with ANR, you will be glad you did!

    I am new to the holster world and Scott at Cajun Gun Works recommended me to ANR. I bought an OWB holster from a competitor for my Glock G17. Stupid move. Hating it. I decided to give ANR a shot because of Scot. I have a P01 with an Olight PL-Mini 2. I had them make me one and WOW what a difference. The quality and the fit is 2nd to none.     When I first received my OWB holster made custom for my FN 509 Tactical with Valkyrie PL Mini 2 light and RDS I was impressed by the details I saw molded into the Kydex. It appeared every tiny detail of the weapon and light had been worked into the mold. The Hexcam Specter13 Kydex pattern looked awesome. However, upon attempting to slide my 509 into the holster I was surprised at how tight the fit was and how much force was needed to fully seat it in the holster. It was so difficult to fully holster it I intensely scrutinized how it was seated in the holster thinking the light must not be in the same position as was molded into it however it just so happened that the position of the light on the rail matched the mold absolutely perfectly. So then I attempted to draw the 509 out of the holster and it was incredibly difficult. My surprise turned to shock once I finally was able to withdraw it from the holster and inspected the slide. THE FINISH OF MY BRAND NEW FN 509 TACTICAL WAS COMPLETELY REMOVED FEOM SEVERAL PARTS OF BOTH SIDES OF THE SLIDE AND THE TOP CORNERS OF THE SLIDE, AFTER ONLY BEING HOLSTERED AND TAKEN OUT OF THE HOLSTER ONCE!!! While it’s a tool and I expected wear over time I didn’t expect my brand new tool that’s never been used or holstered to immediately look like an LE trade-in! I don’t have much experience with Kydex holsters but in my research I had found that when molded properly the tension should be put on trigger guard thus not wearing the slide much if at all over time. I’m just that is not at all what I have in my new ANR holster and am incredibly disappointed. Extremely unhappy with the fit and the immediate wear to my finish that this holster has caused.

      Mr. Goodman, We reached out to you via email asking for you to provide pictures of the “damage” almost 5 days ago. We have gotten NO responses or photo evidence of the issues stated above. KYDEX cannot removed metal from the finish. You may be witnessing kydex residue that can be easily cleaned. Residue sometimes looks metallic on certain finishes. CS would be more than happy to adjust the tightness of the holster. It does require some level of returned communication from you to help resolve what ever the issue may be.     I have been using an IWB from ANR for several months now, based on the recommendation of my firearms instructor. It’s what he uses. I also make my own kydex holsters, but was having trouble making one for my EDC pistol with a light. There is NO WAY I could make a holster this nice on my own!     So happy with this holster. Don’t have the most popular gun. I have Walther PDP compact 5 inch barrel, with stream light with tlr-1hl and holosun red dot. Ordered it with carbon fibre finish. It was supposed to take 3-5 weeks. Got it in 2 weeks, shipped. And it was during thanksgiving. Looks amazing, fits great. So happy with this holster. I wish I could post pictures of it. Although pictures don’t do it justice

    Bought this holster with injection molded loops for a couple classes I attended and waited to review it until i was able to see how it did.

    I am glad i made this purchase. Did exactly what I needed, felt like the perfect amount of retention. Fit was perfect and I couldn’t find a flaw when it arrived. Belt loops were just the right size for my leather gun belt.

    Lead time estimate was accurate and more than acceptable for a fine holster.

    Will buy again for other applications as needed, and will be ordering some pancake loops for it, as well as other holsters for future carry needs.

    Ordered a standard kydex holster. Very nice construction, gun fits perfectly, I ordered the adjustable tension option with is good, as it can be a very tight fit and made need to loosen, at least initially. Only real complaint is that it sits much higher on the body than most of my kydex from about 5 different companies. This means the grip sits high on the body and tends to pull away from me, off the body more than others and prints under my clothes easier. If they could drop it lower an inch or two, I realize my concealment shirt would have to be longer, but I think that would conceal better.

      You can relocate the belt loops, one hole higher, so the ride height is lower. Try this out!

    10/10. Honestly. I had a range day that I needed an OWB Kydex holster for drills and ANR was the only one I could get quick enough with their rush order option. They were not playing around. Got it super fast! The holster is perfect. Great fit, finish, durability, stiffness. Adding the adjustable retention for an extra $4.00 is 100% worth it. You can fine tune exactly where you want it. I’ve got my holster on a war belt, so if it’s too tight, you just lift the whole belt with it. Too loose and it can slide right out if you bend over. Cant is perfect, the pancake clips are perfect and they sent stickers and a Mexican sucker with my order. Definitely won’t be my last order from ANR. Keep it up!

From the “I need a holster fast and anything will do” to the “my buddy who is/ was in the (insert military branch and most tacticool section of every branch, excluding the Coast Guard because the are not military or cool) says they use this brand/ type of holster. However it wasn’t until I came across ANR Design and the holsters they produce that I realized my search for the perfect holster was over.     Works -really- well. I needed a OWB holster for a Beretta M9A3 for CCW. I’m a little old school and don’t want/need American flags or male “members” on my holster (hey, you do you…). The choices are almost bewildering, but I -highly- suggest you check out the YouTube breakdown of the holsters, colors and attachment methods. Much clearer to me than the web based version. Just ran this through Gamut Resolutions and Gunsite back to back with no problems whatsoever and still ready to go. I prefer leather for holsters, but when an anticipated quick on/off is coming up, a kydex holster fits the bill nicely. Holster spread the weight evenly and remained in place (didn’t “fold” over on itself with pistol weight). Thanks ANR-well done!

    Wow! This is my second kydex holster done up by the team and I am beyond happy to carry and the company. Overall the 1911 that I own fits in the holster snug, as if it were a perfect fit. It is extremely comfortable to wear and didn’t dig into the side of me at all. This is my first OWB holster, as I previously used a IWB appendix holster that I bought years ago from ANR and still use it from time to time. The quality of the kydex cannot be matched and the craftsmanship the team puts into the holster cannot be matched either. Oh and from order time to receiving it was maybe a week and a half, and I live on the complete opposite side of the country in the Interior of Alaska from the Live Free or Die State. I will definitely order more as I acquire different pistols and I have recommended ANR in the past to my friends who carry and will continue to recommend ANR to anyone.

    ANR always comes through with quality! I got the OWB in hex pattern for my CZ97 to carry around the house, and it is flawless. The standard clips are easy to use and retention was perfect out of the box. My only complaint (and this goes for any online retailer) is they use the USPS to ship packages. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, PLEASE STOP TRUSTING THE US Postal service! I had to wait a week while they figure out they put the key to my package in the wrong person’s mail slot. They make screw ups like this ALL THE TIME, I’ve personally experienced this 10 times or so since moving to my house.

I’ve also tried C&G and many many other companies that show up on a google search on the first 3 pages. I would say now that my Tier1 holsters, that I absolutely love, are now feel and look like a mid tier holster. I couldn’t believe it. Most kydex holsters are really not that different from each other in quality. This is my first kydex holster that i can say is phenomenal. It is clearly higher quality then my best/favorite holsters. Retention is perfect and the design i chose for the it just looks amazing. I will never buy a holster from anyone else again! ps: this is my first holster review after 25+ holsters

    I was really looking forward to a thoughtfully designed plastic holster. After a long delay, the holster for my light-bearing HK P2000 arrived. It was molded to fit the pistol and light perfectly. Although it was annoying that the holster required the light to be in a specific position, not adjusted to my preference. The design relies on the light for retention, which creates stress on a part that is not permanently attached to the frame. There is no consistent groove through the holster to allow the light to slide out smoothly. The retention method is merely a super tight fit, making the draw crunchy and inconsistent. Yes, crunchy. The internal sides of the kydex are not smooth. The interior of the holster is course and scraped the finish off the slide in several areas after only a few test draws. It was so sad. THE HOLSTER RUINED THE FINISH OF A PERFECT CONDITION HK PISTOL.

Olight Mini lights are stupid because we cannot guess what position you like to have yours in, they are very unique and they have a very large lever to QD the light down, a HK pistol deserves a much better light like a Surefire or Streamlight. The gun finish is probably not “ruined” Lubricate the holster in the hot spots with gun lube. A tooth brush and some gun solvent should get the plastic residue off the gun. If kydex PLASTIC removed HK Nitride or Coating off the gun, then the coating from HK is trash then.

    Bought for my CZ P01 to replace the Vedder Holster I carried for 4 years. That holster never really fit correctly, tolerances were too loose and the gun rocked back and forth as I walked. This AnR holster fits correctly and hugs tighter to my body. Highly customizable when ordering, not a “close enough” product like some competitors. I have used Raven Concealment, Bravo Concealment, and Vedder- I would purchase AnR over those brands.

    The build quality is good, but I did not find the holster to ride close enough to the body, even with the pancake loops. Also, the holster is not created with a cant, that is adjusted via adjusting the loops. I believe the issue with adjusting cant this way is that the holster is molded with a curve, which curves around the body in a straight position, but when the holster is canted it may no longer sit as closely to the body. While the holster and mag pouch seemed to be constructed well, there are other manufacturers that sell similar holsters and offer the ability to make returns.

    Hands down one of, if not the best, OWB holster I’ve had the pleasure of wearing/using. You simply cannot go wrong with one of these; the fit and finish is exceptional despite my particular handgun (Canik TP9SF) having a non-standard light rail. The comfort is excellent and the adjustable cant just makes it that much better. My only small complaints are that, one: due to the quirks of my handgun, it is not fully seated in the holster by approx. 1/8”, which exposes the inside of the trigger guard just slightly. Two, the Recon Haze pattern is a bit darker on the image than in person. I realize I’m nitpicking—the holster is fantastic all in all.

I got the adjustable retention on my holster but still was too tight to the point where I just had to remove the retention screw to get it to my liking. Other than that the holster is solid. Rides close to the body for concealment. Nice adjustable height belt clips. Cool simple design. If you got a quality gun get a quality holster for it. You get what you pay for. Great job ANR

    Great holster! The retention level is perfect. My only complaint is you can’t really adjust the cant with my holster. You can only raise or lower each side one hole, so there is very little cant. The video I watched showed the holster with many more holes on each side. I’m sure the reason is my model of gun.     This is the second lightbearing OWB ANR holster I have purchased out of a total of three so far. Number three is actually in route right now…joy 🙂

    I was initially impressed and very appreciative ANR had a lightbearing OWB holster option my Glock 30S w/TLR-7, since a good quality holster is hard to find in this configuration. So, to show my appreciation, I decided to order one for my P-365 with TLR7 X sub. Both are fitted with the Quick Clips 1.5”, which I like a lot for concealed OWB configuration.

    I was most impressed with this ANR lightbearing OWB holster due to its low profile and comfort. The retention is solid and does not hamper my ability to draw the weapon fluidly or re-holstering, which is just as important. I’m a retired federal agent and there’s nothing worse than being distracted because you can’t re-holster your firearm proficiently…hence why I hate leather pancake holsters.

    So, I believe I will be keeping ANR Design on my top “to go list” for holsters since I have 18 pistols and see my purchasing more in the future.

    Oh, ANR team, a lightbearing OWB holster for a HK P30L w/Inforce Wild1 would be very much appreciated…hint.
    You have the P30 option, but not the P30L…total bummer.

    The last holster you will ever need. I ordered this with the flat pancake loops for my everyday belt, this option holds your firearm extremely close to your body. It is nearly as invisible as IWB options, provided the shirt is long enough, and comfort is unparalleled. Fit and retention is excellent, gives a nice positive ‘click’ on insertion, and I can hold the holster upside down without dropping my Glock. Works excellent on my range belt as well, after a quick belt loop swap to accommodate my 2″ Belt. An Outside the Waistband (OWB) holster mounts on the outside of your belt. OWB holsters are popular for range use, competition shooting, duty carry, and open carry where concealment is not the primary concern.

Can I conceal carry with an OWB holster?

While OWB holsters sit outside the waistband, they can be concealed under a jacket or untucked shirt. However, for dedicated concealed carry, an IWB holster typically offers better concealment.

What is the difference between the OWB and Nidhogg?

The standard OWB uses belt loops, pancake loops, and speed clips for direct belt carry. The Nidhogg is a tactical OWB optimized for Safariland QLS and G-Code RTI quick-detach mounting systems, dropleg platforms, and duty applications.

What's the difference between belt loops, pancake loops, and speed clips?

Injection molded belt loops are the standard, no-cost mount. Pancake loops are curved to pull the holster tighter to the body for better concealment. Speed clips are open-ended, letting you put the holster on or take it off without undoing your belt.

Which optic cut do I need?

Most red dots — including the RMR, Holosun 407/507c/k, and Vortex Venom — use the Standard Optic Cut. The Trijicon RMR HD and Trijicon SRO each require their own dedicated cut due to their larger housings, so select those specifically if you're running one.

What warranty is included?

Every ANR Design holster includes a free Lifetime Warranty on the KYDEX® shell — automatically, on every order. No registration, no added cost. If your shell ever cracks or breaks under normal, intended use, ANR Design will replace it. The warranty covers the original purchaser only. Hardware, cosmetic wear, and damage from misuse are not covered. Customers are responsible for shipping on replacements.
